Three signature talks

Fresh perspectives.
Everyday relevance.

Three ways to explore how our thinking shapes our experience, our wellbeing and what we believe is possible.

Signature talk 01

Why You Can’t (and Shouldn’t) Trust Your Brain

Overthinking, mental clarity and the freedom beyond thought.

ForWorkplaces · Leadership teams · Wellbeing events

A thought can feel completely convincing without being a reliable account of what’s happening. When we automatically believe every worry, prediction or self-critical story, we can create more pressure than a situation calls for.

Blending psychology, real-life examples and practical insight, this talk explores how to recognise that mental noise and step back from it. It’s an invitation to find more space for clear thinking, better decisions and a calmer response to everyday challenges.

What your audience can take away

  • Recognise the difference between a thought and a fact.
  • Notice when overthinking is adding to stress.
  • Explore a clearer, less reactive approach to decisions and challenges.

Signature talk 02

Reaching Your Full Potential

A more authentic way to feel and perform at your best.

ForWorkplaces · Leadership teams · Personal development

Everyone talks about reaching your full potential. But what does that mean? My view is that it starts with being more fully yourself: acting in line with your values and pursuing what feels meaningful.

This talk explores the limiting beliefs and familiar stories that can hold us back. By questioning those assumptions, we can begin to see more clearly what matters, what we’re capable of and how we want to show up in our work and lives.

What your audience can take away

  • Identify beliefs that may be limiting your choices.
  • Reconnect with your values and what feels meaningful.
  • Consider what a more authentic version of success looks like for you.

Signature talk 03

Understanding Beliefs

Seeing through thought to greater freedom and wellbeing.

ForWellbeing events · Personal development audiences

Our beliefs influence what we notice, how we interpret events and what we think is possible. Some become so familiar that we stop recognising them as beliefs at all.

Drawing on psychology and reflective insight, this talk explores how those assumptions shape our experience. We look at what can change when we hold our thinking more lightly, question old stories about ourselves and become open to a different perspective.

What your audience can take away

  • Notice assumptions that shape your everyday experience.
  • Question old stories about who you are and what is possible.
  • Explore the space for clarity, creativity and wellbeing beyond those stories.

In the room

Practical insight. Human conversation.

My approach brings psychological ideas into everyday life. Through real examples, questions and reflection, I invite people to look afresh at experiences they recognise in themselves.

Whether I’m speaking to a team or a wellbeing audience, the focus is on making the ideas understandable, relevant and useful beyond the room.

  • Psychology explained in everyday language.
  • Space to reflect on what the ideas mean personally.
  • A connection between wellbeing, clarity and how we perform.

The person behind the talks

Meet Chris Finn.

I’m a BABCP-accredited CBT psychotherapist, life coach and author of A Clear Mind. My working life has taken me from corporate leadership into psychology, the NHS, university teaching, psychotherapy and coaching.

I spent 14 years working in the NHS and five years as a Senior Lecturer teaching CBT at university. Across my clinical and coaching work, I’ve worked with more than 6,000 people.

What connects it all is a fascination with what helps people change—and how a clearer understanding of the mind can open up new possibilities.
